Overview

Hidden away on St Leonards Avenue in West Leederville, Piccolo's Corner is a gem of a cafe that promises a simple yet rewarding experience. The space is intimate and inviting, adorned with lush plants that add a calm, natural touch to the atmosphere. It's a place designed for those who appreciate quiet moments—whether catching up with friends, working, or losing themselves in a good book. Its pet-friendly policy expands its appeal to a broad audience, including families and solo visitors alike.

The menu strikes a fine balance between classic cafe favorites and fresh, creative dishes. Standouts include the smoked salmon breakfast, perfectly paired with well-executed poached eggs and a side selection that ranges from crispy bacon to vibrant pesto and feta. The smashed avocado, though tasty, offers room for refinement, but the comforting Eggs Benedict and hearty meatballs speak to the kitchen’s capability and care. For those after something straightforward yet wholesome, the free-range eggs on toast and Bircher muesli offer simplicity done well.

Piccolo's Corner is known for its coffee, where the flat white and strong latté gather commendations, though some patrons hint at inconsistency. The charm extends beyond the food and beverage—friendly baristas who are generous enough to offer muffins to take home cultivate a warm local vibe. Its late opening hours position it perfectly for an afternoon caffeine lift, appealing to the community that values leisurely breaks during the day.

While the cafe thrives on its cozy, understated charm, a few operational nuances surface, such as occasional inattentiveness with dish presentation and service responsiveness. Yet, these moments don't overshadow the overall quality or welcoming environment that fosters repeated visits.

Piccolo's Corner caters to those seeking a peaceful corner to eat well and relax away from the usual urban clatter. Its blend of classic breakfast offerings, thoughtful hospitality, and tranquil setting makes it an ideal spot for weekend brunches or quiet morning retreats close to Lake Monger. For West Leederville locals and visitors alike, it offers a subtle, well-curated cafe experience that invites you to return again and again.

How good is this place? Tucked away in a little corner just off Lake Monger, this is one of those places that makes you wish you live a stone's throw away so you can get a cuppa from here every day. It is a comfortable place to catch up with mates, do your work or read a book, to which I've done all three while visiting back in Perth. They also make a mean plate of gnocchi. The baristas are super friendly, they were even offering their muffins to take home at the end of the day. I appreciate that it opens late (by Perth standards at least) so I can get that caffeine boost in the afternoon.

The cutest Cafe ever! Plants galore, pet friendly, beautiful design & atmosphere, lovely personal service and the menu! Absolutely loved the menu! I couldn't decide! Everything looked fresh too! I ended up getting takeaway but I'll definitely have to come back for brunch soon! I got the Chicken & Mushroom Filo, Caramel Slice & a Joe's 7 Fruits Juice delicious!

Quiet little spot on a weekday. Good for coffee and catch-ups. My stacked breakfast looked picture perfect, but when it was placed on the table the stack fell over and off the plate. I had to clean up the mess myself and wasn't offered a replacement item. The food I ate was great though :)

Came here for an early morning break from making breakfast for my M3. What a gem! There's a little room tucked away behind the big mirror that's decked out for exactly my kind of people (people who have little people to entertain). Breakfast was fantastic, its been a long time since I felt like there was more on the plate than what I paid for, but here it was. And there was plenty to entertain M3 on the shelves, nooks, and crannies so I could eat it almost all by myself. Being out of the way helped reduce the noise from self declared mining magnates, waffling on about the legalities of mineral rights and how they, "know a guy", who has the skinny. Delightful spot for a quiet break that the locals a definitely not telling anyone about.

Our first visit to Piccolo's Corner. And I suspect it won't be our last. The smashed avo was tasty, with room for improvement. Sorry to say that the poached egg was hard boiled. The breakfast butty was also tasty and a runny egg would have been great. The strong latté was decent. Not excellent. The smoothie was very tasty. Until the next time.

A great hang out place that is atmospheric, with an eclectic interior filled with memorabilia and decorations. It is situated in a quiet corner of a residential neighborhood. Had the hot chocolate and carrot cake, which was nice! They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Free parking nearby. Great service and a memorable visit. Highly recommended! Thumbs up!
